On May 19, 2013, the MMAFRC members hosted a flying demonstration for the Boy Scouts and leaders of Troop 34 from Arlington Heights, IL. The boys and leaders all had the opportunity to fly model aircraft on one of three computer simulators the club had at the field, and then try their hands on the real thing! Instructor pilots from the club took turns working with the Scouts, letting them fly models that use a "buddy box" system. This allows the student to control the model, but the instructor to take over if the student has difficulty.
I would like to thank the Scouts and Leaders of Troop 34 for allowing our club to host this day! They all are a great group of young men, and their parents should be proud of how they all conducted themselves. Here are some photos from the afternoons' activities!! Enjoy!
